Salar the Salmon Meets Tarka the Otter

In his book ‘Salar the Salmon’, Henry Williamson relates the life story of fish in the stretch of the River Bray at Acorn Retreat.  This week Salmon and Sea Trout have been seen gliding up the swollen river to spawn in gravel beds on the Exmoor rivers.

A more frequent visitor is the patrolling Otter spotted on the river bank this week searching for Salmon and in the lakes at Oakmead hunting for wild trout.  Our more patient guests might just see this bit of action.
